The KSA Educational and Charitable Trust was formed in 2008 with the intention of helping the under privileged students from the coastal belt of Cuddalore district, where there is lack of availability of quality institution for maritime related studies, while the majority of the people in this belt depends for their main lively hood on sea related industries. The trust is headed by the Mr. K.S Alagri, BA. In 2010 the trust has established a Maritime college in 1069, Thirupaninatham, Keerapalayam, Chidambaram and running Diploma in Nautical Science course successfully. We aim at excellence in maritime training and endeavor to become the best collage in India in training seafarers. The students admitted here have gone through a tough National level entrance examination and have been allotted to us by the Indian Maritime University. Surrounded by green fields, situated in very eco-friendly area and with an ambiance to induce studies, this unit was started by a person who has been in public life for the past three decades and has essentially stood by rural areas. Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institue of Maritime Science and Engineering was started as a brain child of our close exposure with marine faculty and facility. Lot of guidance were received, which we are translating in to action. In southern part of India close to the temple town of Chidambaram this Institute is functioning, affiliated to Indian Maritime University-a Central University by the Government of India. East coast of rural India is not getting as much exposure to the competition of outside world because of lack of opportunity .Young talented persons living in rural areas desirous of following the foot steps of their sea going ancestors in the Cuddalore Chidambaram area cannot think of a job in the open seas . World Industry is expanding at a very inspiring rate. When trade expands, more material also have be transported from one place to another . For ages, ships have been the major carrier of international cargo. Indians have proved to be some of the best Sea farers in the world.
